This may be an overtly Christian interpretation which will play against 
the sympathies of many here.

However, I think that perhaps it is plausible.

There is much in both Judaism and Christianity about the power of 
blood.  The power of the blood sacrifice is referenced in nearly every 
religious tradition.

We know that Harry is preserved through the sacred magic of his 
mother's blood sacrifice.  Perhaps that same love and blood sacrifice 
which protects Harry will redeem that small portion of LV's soul.

I hesitate to post this because I haven't entirely worked through the 
theory, but this is one possible direction.
