When did Snape invent his curses?

Well someone could have seen Snape do the curse before and of course 
asked him how it was done... And of course the curse could've spread 
like wildfire as it was so "cool" looking... Or maybe Snape thought 
of the curse before he even learned how to do non-verbal spells and 
people would've heard it and copied it...
