Now Richelle:

I understood that same paragraph to say they didn't take exams.  It says 
Harry _could imagine_ how it would have been _if Dumbledore had not died_ 
and they had this time together.  Leading into the next phrase, _if 
Dumbledore had not died_ then Ginny's examinations would've been finished, 
etc.
