But the hiding Wormtail went into and the hiding DD is talking about 
are, IMO, completely different cases without any area for parallel to 
be drawn. 

I believe that that comment was meant to foreshadow DD's death and to 
open lines of speculation as to how he may still be alive (even though 
I do think he is really dead).
