How about the argument in the Forest, Alla?
I would imagine the words "I don't want to do it anymore..." might be
words from someone who is thinking he's being a coward, but for
extenuating reasons..
Snape has just secretly made an Unbreakable Vow to kill the person
he's arguing with, if he wants to do it, then why does he want to run?
It's a cowards act to retreat, no? Yet Snape's intention to retreat is
there.. He's being a coward, *recently*. Could this be the event
you're looking for?
