Of course, it isn't known, as far as I know, whether  Amelia,
Edgar, and the rest of the murdered Bones' were in  Hufflepuff.
They could have been in Ravenclaw or even  Griffindor.



The Bones family are just one family of many who've lost  people.  In HBP 
characters that we've come to know are vanishing left and  right.  It's one of 
the ways JKR makes the war seem real.  Voldemort  has no problem killing people 
(or having people killed) who refuse to cooperate  with his reign of terror.  
The Bones family refused to play his game.
