Yes, I can definitely imagine Percy seeing 'the error of his ways'. 
At least he will admit to himself that he was wrong. However, I can 
not imagine him admitting it to anyone else, especially his parents. 
He's far to proud to come back with his tail between his legs. (Even 
though he will be received with open arms, and he knows it.) IMHO, 
the only way for him to redeem himself his to die, saving the life 
of another, most likely one of his brothers's or Harry's.
