Yet another prophecy question

I think it is because DD realized that keeping major secrets from 
Harry, the whys of things so to speak, put Harry and the people 
around him in greater danger than if Harry didn't know those things. 
For instance, if Harry HAD known about the prophecy he wouldn't have 
resisted the lessons from Snape, because he would have known what was 
down the corridor and behind the door. So he wouldn't have wanted the 
dreams to continue to find out what was there. He would have made 
better choices, or at least had the chance to make better ones.
