I'll start off with apologies if I say something patronizing, or rude, 
I don't mean to. (If I say something just plain stupid, that's par for 
the course.)

Given that there is enough canon support for the idea that that Sirius 
and Remus are partners, this line from James has a new twist: "Well, 
it's more the fact that he *exists*, if you know what I mean..."

That's the same excuse used by gay bashers after beating someone up for 
being different.
