I agree completely. I am at a loss to understand how such intelligent
and usually reasonable people can allow a discussion of a plot device,
Snape's teaching abilities, to deteriorate to the point of name calling
and insults. The discussion should answer whether or not the
description of Snape's teaching works as a plot device. This story has
nothing to do with educational systems past, present or future. Nor
does it have anything to do with child abuse. Is this not Harry Potter
for Grownups?
