I guess it's just different for different people. 
Feeling embarassed and humiliated is something I
dread.  I've been picked on and cried myself to sleep
everynight for a few months in junior high.  The way
Fred and George treat Percy (particularly in the later
books) is horrible to me.  If I lived with them, or
even went to school with them I would spend my life
trying to avoid them and hiding from them and trying
to make myself invisible just so they'd leave me
alone.  In particular, they send dragon dung to his
place of work when he was at his very first job.  That
is the sort of thing his co-workers will make jokes
about five or even ten years from now.  I'm bascially
at my first job in my field now.  If someone did that
to me, I would be beyond humiliated.
