Yes, Harry JKR makes it clear that Harry is the one who deserves it
most, she also explains why he nevertheless did not get it. Are you
saying that in literature good things should always go to the person
who deserves it most because otherwise you have "extremely poor
writing"? Outside of Harry nobody in school deserved it more than Ron,
nobody risked his life as much for the greater good.
I also find it rather bizarre to call the most popular author on the
planet not just a poor writer but an EXTREAMLY poor writer. Writers
who can write verbal pyrotechnics that impress literary snobs (like
Harold Bloom) are a dime a dozen, someone who can dream up characters
that are enormously popular in every culture on Earth come up once or
twice a century. The Order Of The Phoenix, the very book you are
complaining about was number one on the French best seller list, the
ENGLISH version of The Order Of The Phoenix. Not bad for a extremely
poor writer, she must have something going for her.
I'm not saying JKR doesn't have her faults, "I think she uses too many
adverbs, particularly in dialogue attribution", he said earnestly.
