Ron & the mirror (was Umbridge, detention, scars, and plotlines,)

(Sorry, I don't have my books here with me at the office so can't supply
quotes)  Ron saw himself as Head boy and Quidditch Captain in the Mirror of
Erised (which is Desire spelled backwards).  As Dumbledore told Harry, the
mirror showed the looker his deepest desires of the heart.  Thus the mirror
is not foretelling the future, but merely showing what Ron REALLY wants (to
shine where he has always been overshadowed by all his older,
brilliant-in-some-way, brother)  Presumably - he still dreams about being
captain and winning the cup; and dreams don't come true until we work for
them!
