John:
I agree that we have a right to judge DD's *ACTIONS*, or inactions, 
as either good/bad/negligent; only then can such actions/inactions 
be appropriately dealt with. 

However, I don't think we have any right to judge DD the man. Just 
because he has made some arguably questionable decisions, we cannot 
ever IMO consider ourselves the moral authority over him.

You know, I think it would perhaps be better were we have this sort 
of debate at the end of book 7, when all is out in the open.

What exactly do you mean by this? Just because DD isn't one prone to 
overt displays of emotion, should this be a reason for us to find 
him wanting in that respect?
