We actually went through all this rather recently.  If you really
think a particular thread is not suitable for the list, you should
take it up with the list elves and make your case.  It's their job to
adjudicate such things.  However, they have been quite firm that it is
not appropriate to use the list itself to argue that a particular
topic/thread is unsuitable or out of bounds.
