Though I suggested it in the first place, I really have nothing to 
back it up, except that LV didn't seem to think she was a threat to 
him at GH until she became persistent and he killed her. It just kind 
of came to me as I wrote it out, and I don't know why.

One arguement against it is that she seemed to know what was going on 
with Snape in school when James and Sirius were picking on him, but 
the blindness could have happened at a later date. I do think there's 
a charm involved though, or some kind of potion, if that truly WERE 
the case.
