Absolutely. It's like saying the "Mudblood" was beneath notice but
that Pure Bloods would be punished for mixing with them. James would
be killed along with his mixed blood child.
I also think that Voldemort wasn't going to take any chances. Neville
was next on the list to die, but he got vaporized by Harry before he
got around to it.
