I find this a very appealing scenario... And I'll humbly add an extra
twist: Suppose after Voldemort is defeated, Sibyll contritely admits
that she faked the whole thing because she was so desperate for
Dumbledore to think her a true seer (remember he was "disappointed"
in her performance up to that point) and hire her!

That really *would* be the Final Irony, wouldn't it?!!!
