 Huh? Are you saying that a wounded person ought to show his
gratitude for the  care he receives by getting better, and it's 
rampant ingratitude if he does not?

I wouldn't say an injured player who took the field at his coach's
request showed a lack of team spirit, even if his injuries caused 
him to botch a play and injure a team mate. Especially if the coach 
admits he  misjudged the condition of  the player.
