Well, here's another example, taking Harry out of the equation. Back in 
SS/PS during the Quidditch game, Harry's broom was being hexed. 
Hermione saw Snape staring at the broom, muttering hexes. She 
distracted him and the hexing stopped. And the trio continued to 
believe Snape was the one who hexed the broom until the Quirrell told 
Harry differently. There was lot's of good evidence to believe it was 
Snape then too.
