It would be a bit better, granted. First of all Harry
would not feel such an antagonism, and second - Sirius
would not have sabotaged his attitude from the start.
But another teacher still would not be allowed to give
him the full explanation of the reasons for the
lessons, so the motivation for the studying would
still be very low.
So the end result would've been probably the same -
Harry's curiousity about that door was so much
stronger than his good sense. Such as it is.
