portrayed in the simplest of terms as bad?

Marilyn Peake: I think that the job of a good author is to reflect back
the real world, even when the author does this through fantasy. I
think that J.K. Rowling does this extremely well. In the real world,
when newspapers and T.V. report that someone has been sentenced to
prison for committing murder, a certain fan base will begin sending
letters and marriage proposals to the prisoner. J.K. Rowling has, in
my opinion, created characters who seem real enough to be treated in
the various ways in which people respond to others in the real world.
In regard to Draco, I remember from my psychology courses that there is
a "halo effect" attributed to attractive people and to tall people.
Attractive people are automatically considered by more people to
be "smart", "good", etc. Tall people are more often hired for jobs.

Best Wishes,
Marilyn
