In PS/SS, Draco makes some demeaning comments about Hagrid being an
oaf who gets drunk a lot and almost sets fire to his bed (or
something; not an exact quote).  Harry coldly defends him ("I think
he's brilliant") and thus indicates his pro-Hagrid feelings.

My point was that Draco goes after people because Harry likes them;
it's a way of jabbing at Harry.
