But you have gone on about this point several times. The plain fact is
that they could have refused to take Harry and, at any time during
those years, they could have thrown in the towel and put him into care.
I can remember a case some years ago involving one of the young people
in our church group who was orphaned. In a similar scenario to Harry's,
an aunt and uncle took him in - very unwillingly - and did just that
after a year or so. They washed their hands of a family relative.
