Question About Remus

Hi I am new to the group so I do not know if you have covered this or 
not. If you have I am sorry.  My question is, in PoA when Remus turned 
into a werewolf and Sirus turned into the dog, how come that did not 
calm Remus down? If they would go out all the time at night shouldn't 
the presence of Sirus made Remus stop? I know this might seem like a 
dumb question but I really would like to know.
