And why make such a big to-do and go on for 5 pages about flying to 
Grimmauld Place on broomsticks in the beginning of OoP, when Harry 
could just have grabbed someone's arm and apparated that way?  I 
suspect it's a flint and that JKR just hadn't invented the idea yet.
