I do think this assumes facts not yet in evidence, (or canon).  We don't
know for sure yet how Snape "turned out" and won't until the whole picture
is revealed. While it's true that the argument could be made that Snape
is evil, that has not been proven, as evidenced by a couple of thousand
posts on either side of the question.
