Sorry to reply to my own post, but I messed up the attribution.  My

Yes, if there are some problems regarding the time in the Potterverse, 
I mostly assume it's a Flint. I also think that for example the missing 
24 hours between the murder of Lily and James and Dumbledore delivering 
Harry to the Dursleys are simply that, a Flint.

That seems pretty unlikely, the missing 24 happen during a single
chapter of her first book.  She can hardly have overlooked the fact
that Harry was unaccounted for during that time.

Probably, Dumbledore told Hagrid to grab Harry and get lost, while he
(Dumbledore) figured out what to do next.
