Same thing in Potterverse - I don't see why the fact they are at  war 
with Voldie should make  them endure Snape ( I mean I understand  it 
for the sake of the story, but from within the story, I  don't)

I don't believe that their childhood should be taken away. There's only one  
Snape at Hogwarts, and according to Dumbledore by way of JKR, he's one of  the 
lessons the students should learn. (Ha! Someone refered  to an interview!)  
The rest of the Hogwarts experience is rather fun,  actually.  I'm just saying 
that the Potterverse is, at times, vicious and  evil, and they will have to 
learn how  to deal with it. And they do, once a week. They won't  be at Hogwarts 
forever, nor was Hogwarts protected forever.
