cease to operate the moment that Harry turns seventeen..." pp56-57.

Now, we know from GoF that Voldemort has some of this protection inside 
him as well.  So we know that Harry is going to be without this 
protection on his birthday, which means had Voldemort chosen someone 
else, he would've been free to touch Harry as of his birthday.  
However, he did choose Harry.  So is this decision going to have some 
negative consequence for Voldemort on Harry's Birthday?  Is this 
finally the answer to the "gleam of triumph" in DD's eyes?  Voldemort's 
decision to use Harry finally shows the consequences 3 years later.
