As everyone is celebrating, I'd guess the students at Hogwarts had been 
given the day off. I'm not sure if McGonagall was the deputy yet or 
even if she was head of Gryffindor. Do we have a date for that?

So it could have been the Headmaster and one teacher missing. I'm sure 
Snape was staying close to Hogwarts at that moment.
