I think Dumbledore is dead, but Snape did not kill him. Dumbledore
probably began dying after he secured the ring horcrux, but certainly
after he drank the potion in the cave. When Snape sent his "curse,"
Dumbledore might have just "given up the ghost" and launched himself
into the next great adventure, voluntarily and with great relief. If
the object of the Vow is dead, perhaps the Vow is voided. So, am I
delusional? The only other wizard who anticipated death and planned
for it, that I can think of, was Nicolas Flamel... or maybe Merope
Gaunt... or maybe RAB.
