  Because I would think that seeing him humiliated (which is IMO why it IS Snape's worst memory. Humiliation to anyone is perhaps the most vivid and sometimes gut churning thing let alone I-Would-Never-Wear-My-Heart-on-My-sleeve Snape) especially a STUDENT seeing that, especially HARRY seeing that....well. Now, if he had a memory that showed James in that bad a light without the Snape humiliation, I bet he would have been happy for Harry to see it.
