I *would* be surprised if Draco gets killed in the opening pages of
book 7. After spending all that time in HBP building and deepening
the character of Draco it would be odd for JKR to turn him into a
footnote.

I agree. I'd add that just by taking the Vow Snape signaled his
willingness to die to protect Draco. Of course, I see Snape as DDM
(Dumbledore's Man) and since Dumbledore sacrificed so much to save
Draco I can't see Snape allowing all of Dumbledore's work to go to
waste.
