Peter Pettigrew murdered 13 people with a single curse by causing 
some type of massive explosion (I wonder what THAT curse was!).  A 
small sneak attack with a few well-placed explosions could easily 
devastate that wedding.  But I agree that Voldemort has never been 
good, logical, or productive at anything.
