Another set of best friends JKR has developed by showing where
they make big choices to support each other is Cho and Marietta. 
Here are some examples.

1) Before GF Cho is shown to have many friends and she travels in a 
pack with many girlfriends. After Cedric dies and Cho is distraught 
in OOP Cho most of her friends, except Marietta apparently. Marietta 
is apparently the only friend who will stay with Cho and help her 
through her grief. 

2) Marietta joins an organization that she doesn't want to join just 
because a friend asked.

3) Cho chooses her friend over Harry. She could have easily kept her 
relationship with Harry if JKR had her denounce Marietta. But she is 
more concerned over the curse Hermione placed on Marietta.
