What I was thinking though was how DD could "sense" magic. It sounds  
crass, but Dobby might be like a "scent dog" in the magic department.  
Dobby has also listened to more than just Lucius over the years at  
the Malfoy house, I'll reckon. He might know more than he knows but  
not know he knows it and still be a help?
