I too would find it difficult to explain that to my son, lets see

"Son if somebody attacks you with lethal force, as Draco and
Quirrelmort did to Harry don't try to defend yourself, just stand
there and die." no that doesn't sound quite right, let me rephrase
that, "Son if somebody attacks you with lethal force then get medieval
on their ass." 

Harry is a good man but that doesn't mean he's a wimp.
