It's certainly possible, and we'll have to wait and see.  Personally
I'm not sure that it wouldn't almost be too easy if it was almost
right under Harry's nose the whole time.  Also we have to consider
how Tom Riddle would have got close to it, unless the Weasleys only
acquired it after their marriage.  If it's a family heirloom, there's
less chance, IMO.
