In HBP, *I* can't figure out why Hermione wants Ron, either. She
acts like he's a piece of poo she just wiped off her shoe. What I
also have a hard time understanding is how Ron is able to get past
that sort of treatment and keep on liking Hermione. Though he's
always been able to see through her "all-knowing, all-powerful"
facade. So perhaps he's able to see past her bad behavior in this
particular book.

Oh, I was totally talking about JKR's view upthread. Personally,
I'm having a hard time seeing a match made in heaven here. (Though
I'm quite sure that's how the book will end.) There have been
bickering couples in literature before, and I've bought them hook,
line and sinker: Beatrice and Benedick, Jane and Mr. Darcy, Princess
Leia and Han Solo (hey, there was a book!). I'm not getting such a
great vibe off of Hermione and Ron.
