I can see your point.  It could explain why Dobby does what he does.
The fact that Harry does not share the neatness gene (his hair) might
show Harry does not have it.

As a mother with 4 homeschooled kids, I need Petunia to have a magical
need to clean and a magical ability to do so, because I surely don't!
