Carol responds:
I don't think the Advance Guard would need to fly over Spinner's End,
anyway. Snape was on his way to 12 GP to give his report. He arrives
just minutes before Harry ("He's just arrived, the meeting's started,"
Mrs. Weasley tells the Order members right after she greets Harry, OoP
am. ed. 61). Possibly his arrival is the reason for the signals (red
and green wand sparks), which tell the Order members that it's time to
leave, or more likely he informs them that he's on his way since the
flight takes more than a few minutes. In any case, he wouldn't have
been at Spinner's End, so there's no reason to fly over it. Quite
possibly, Snape also saw the wand sparks and knew what they were about.
Carol, just putting two and two together in terms of timing
