I was thinking that all the Wizards consider muggles to be animals. The 
only difference is that DE think muggles are an unpleasant pest, that 
should be either mass-murdered or just hunted for pleasure, and people 
like Arthur think muggles are akin to very cute and clever dogs.

More examples for your list: in GoF, the way the Weasleys come for a 
visit. Arthur just decided to connect their fireplace. Stupid muggles, 
they didn't keep it ready for a friendly wizarding family to drop in.

The way Ron words his letter: "ask the muggles" if you can go. If they 
say yes, we'll pick you up. If they say no, we'll pick you up anyway.

And I still want to know what happens if a muggle family refuses to send 
their child to Hogwarts. Do they always dispatch Hagrid to deal with 
difficult customers?
