I would say Harry advanced from a rebellious independent teenager into
a leader. By the end of book 6 Harry is giving orders and people are
obeying them, even McGonagall. She listens closely to Harry's ideas
about Dumbledore's funeral and agrees do it his way. When she asks
where he and Dumbledore had been and what they were doing Harry
politely but firmly refuses to tell her, and she does not press the
matter; a few years ago she most certainly would have but she knows
Harry has turned into a natural born leader and complies with his
wishes. In the next book I don't think we'll see Harry the child or
Harry the teenager or even Harry the rebel, we will see Harry the General.
