This is very interesting. If that's the case, then it would be fairly
reasonable to at least deduce that R.A.B. is a member of the Black
family. But is Regulus the only one we know who has these initials?
The recent Black family tree done by JKR for auction reveals that
there's someone called Arcturus Black who died in 1959, and there's
also Alphard Black who died in 77. So, either of these two characters
could have a name beginning with an R, such as Rigel, Rastaban, or
Rana or some other similarly named star, constellation or galaxy as
seems to be the Black tradition for a lot of their names. JKR has
established that she has kept the complete name of a character a
secret until it is appropriate, like Nigellus who was finally revealed
to be Black.
