Fascinating post.
Not so long ago, I found myself wondering what would be the worst
thing that could happen to Voldemort. What my brain managed to come up
with, was: discovering that DD was right all the time, that there are,
indeed, worse things than dying. And logically, in order to find this
out, he needs to be in a situation where he all he wants is to die,
and then finds that he can't. It would also be a perfect example of
the karmic punishment that JKR seems so fond of in the series. 

Only, I'm not sure this would ultimately satisfy DD, if he were alive
- unless Voldemort ends up in a situation where he will eventually die
of old age (because all his horcruxes are destroyed), having spent the
remainder of his "life" in deep regret.
