You do have to take into account that Arthur works for the MoM.  I'm 
sure he has had many "adult" conversations with friends that the 
twins could have overheard.  With that in mind, I am also convinced 
that most wizards have at least some knowledge of the dark arts but 
make a conscious decision not to use them.
