I really think this is JKR's theme.  Love concurs all.  If you fell 
asleep in church, she'll give you a path of M&Ms to follow. She is 
not telling you to follow "FILL IN THE BLANK". She is showing you 
the results of not having any spiritual basis in your life.  She is 
pointing out some of the bad behaviors that have become accepted in 
the 21st Century.  In essence, I think she is teaching the largest 
class of students ever assembled in the modern age!
