Small number of Snapeophiles? I think Snape is and always has been
pond scum, but I am a tiny minority. Every time I mention something
he's done that isn't very nice, like murdering Dumbledore 10 people
write elaborate excuses to explain away his behavior. However even I,
confirmed Snape hater that I am, didn't take chapter 2 of HBP at face
value the first time I read it, I certainly didn't expect him to
murder Dumbledore. JKR's genius was to make us think there was more
going on in that chapter but by the end of the book we realize that
Snape meant exactly what he said and that surprised us, at least it
surprised me. Talk about hiding in plain sight!
