Gregory:
It occurs to me that that statement about 'You can't kill someone who 
is already dead', is the key to Snape's eventual redemption.  DD was 
dying from the poison left by Voldemort which also probably killed 
RAB.  So Dumbledore is saying Snape didn't really kill DD despite the 
unforgiveable curse.
